Kiera Powers, Club directer, 12u
My name is Kiera, and coaching volleyball is my passion. Growing up, I faced challenges with self-esteem and confidence, but volleyball helped me find my voice. Through the sport, I learned to navigate conflicts, embrace my true self, accept mistakes, and advocate for myself constructively. These are the invaluable skills I aim to impart to every young athlete.
I believe that every young athlete deserves the chance to participate in volleyball, regardless of their skill level. At SLVC, we pride ourselves on our honesty, integrity, and the foundation of trust and kindness we build upon. If you are seeking a club that embodies these values, then SLVC is the right place for you. If your current club does not provide these, we welcome you to join us.
We are excited and honored to work with your athletes!

Hi! I’m Coach Dalee. A little bit about me. I am from Florida. I am 21 years old. I am married to my amazing husband and we have the cutest little baby. I played volleyball all throughout Middle School and High School and I am absolutely in love with this sport. I have experience playing indoor, beach/sand ball, and I played a season of intramural volleyball when I was in college. This will be my 3rd season coaching with SLVC.
I believe there are so many things you learn in volleyball that can be applied to real life. For me, it has taught me how to work and communicate with others, keep a positive attitude when things are hard, and how much hard work pays off. All the skills the players will learn are important. They will become stronger mentally and physically but I think the most important things is for them to have a good time and have fun. I absolutely love coaching and watching my players improve and thrive! So excited for this season!!
ellie malovich, 14Green
My name is Ellie, and I LOVE volleyball! I was an athlete for 11 years and then moved on to coaching. I played for numerous volleyball clubs in the Salt Lake Valley before and during my years in high school. I was a Middle Blocker for Herriman High School where I was awarded defensive player of the year for my blocking record during the 2018-19 season. Within the same season, I was the #4 Middle Blocker in the state of Utah. After high school, I went on to play for one season with the UVU women's club team before deciding I would like to pursue a career in coaching instead. I have been a volleyball coach for 5 years and have loved every second of it. I am currently the Sophomore coach for both boys and girls volleyball at Herriman High School. Having specialized mostly with developmental-type teams, I find it extremely rewarding to be able to teach each athlete how to love the game of volleyball!

I am excited to be part of the Salt Lake Volleyball Club this season! I look forward to fostering a love for the game in the players who join our club. My goal is to create an encouraging environment where athletes can develop their skills, build teamwork, and enjoy the sport we all cherish. Let’s make this season unforgettable!
courtney young - Training Team
Hi I am Courtney! I am very excited to be joining Salt Lake Volleyball Club this season as the training coach! I have been playing volleyball since I was 11. I fell in love with volleyball watching my dad play and practice passing after his games. After that I was hooked on playing indoor ball!
All throughout high school I played club and loved traveling to different tournaments in and out of the state. To this day I continue to play volleyball, whether it be indoor, grass or sand. I still have the passion for the sport and would love to pass that passion along to others this club season!
Jordan burks, 13u
hi! I’m Coach Jordan! I am so excited to be coaching on SLVC this season. I am a self taught volleyball player turned avid coach. I have been playing volleyball for 10 years where I positioned as libero and defensive specialist on gold level club teams. I have experience coaching young girls at all levels aged 7-18 years both in team settings and 1:1 skills training.
As an adult, I have gone on to become a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach where I specialize in functional training and mobility. I have just concluded my first season assisting on the Highland High volleyball program and am eager to bring my knowledge to the program!
As a team, we will be focusing on foundational volleyball skills, incorporating correct and safe movement, and improving player dynamic both on and off the court. All in the name of fun! This season, I aim to build a supportive culture and foster a team that is motivated to work hard and achieve great things together. I am thrilled to share my love of volleyball (and some of my wisdom) with this great group of girls!
